It's Tulip Time: Festivals to Add to Your Next Road Trip Itinerary
We are just a few weeks away from the bloom of one of America’s favorite spring flowers, the Tulip. Tulips bloom at different times throughout the spring growing season- some as early as April, while others bloom in May and June.
Something else that blooms this time of year- annual Tulip festivals! These festivals are held in great destinations around the country, predominately in cities with Dutch heritage. If your Coach is headed in the direction of one of these cities, be sure to take a little time to smell the tulips and check out a festival!
Held every April since 1983, Skagit Valley, Washington celebrates the spring season of flowers including daffodils in late March, tulips in April and irises and lilies in May. More than a million visitors come to see over 300 acres of brightly colored tulips and enjoy festivities in places like La Conner and Mount Vernon.
